ROCK CASTLE GORGE TRAIL
|
|
You will be amazed by the abundance of wildlife,
spectacular views, and beautiful wildflowers that
you'll see as we hike this historic 10.8 mile loop
trail located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
The gorge was first accupied by Native Americans.
In the early 1700's white settlers began moving into
the gorge. You'll see evidence of old home sites as
we hike the trail, but the only house that remains
today is the Big White House. During The Great
Depression of the 1930's, there was a Civilian
Conservation Corps Camp located where the
backwoods campsite is today. So come along
and join us as we hike this historic trail.
